Do More for Civil Liberties in Delaware DM24DE 2021

Organization Mission:

The mission of the ACLU of Delaware is to preserve and advance civil liberties and civil rights in the State of Delaware as enshrined in the United States and Delaware Constitutions through education and advocacy without consideration of political association.

Every gift made here between 6 p.m. on March 4 and 6 p.m. on March 5 will fuel our efforts on voting rights, education equity, justice reform, and systemic equality — and thanks to the generosity of our board members, every dollar will be matched, up to $5,500!


As we make our way further into a new year, with a new presidential administration and Delaware’s most diverse group of lawmakers in our state’s history, it is with hopeful hearts and open eyes that we look ahead, prepared to tackle whatever comes our way. Because we know: the future of our victories is not guaranteed. We must continue to fight to protect and expand civil liberties in Delaware, and with your support, we know we can accomplish everything we set out to do.

Together, we can ensure our democracy persists through attacks on voting rights. We can ensure that every eligible Delawarean is able to cast a ballot freely and fairly by reforming our state laws to modernize voter registration and allow every voter the choice of how they wish to cast their ballot.

Through our education equity efforts, we can make sure that our schools have the funding they need to give all of Delaware’s students the education they deserve — one that’s safe, fair and equitable, with resources to help reach those students who need them most.

With your help, justice reform can march forward in Delaware. We can demand police accountability and transparency, transform outdated sentencing laws, make prisons safer for the people who live and work in them, close the revolving door to prison, and help people successfully rebuild their lives after incarceration.

Your support will also help propel our Systemic Equality agenda, which will address America’s legacy of racism and discrimination in an effort to build a nation where every person can achieve their highest potential, unhampered by structural and institutional racism.
