Tzedek, tzedek tirdof / צֶ֥דֶק צֶ֖דֶק תִּרְדֹּ֑ף Justice, justice thou shalt pursue. (Deut. 16:20)

The Torah (Hebrew Scriptures) compels us to pursue justice. I've always taken this mitzvah (sacred obligation) to heart--as a teen, in college and seminary,  in my rabbinate and my daily life. That's why I'm supporting the ACLU-DE for this Do More 24. ACLU-DE has been at the vanguard protecting the rights of immigrants, working for criminal justice reform through their Smart Justice campaign, advocating for civil liberties and generally working to make our First State a more just and equitable society. I’m excited about the work that ACLU-DE has planned for this year: the team is prioritizing legislative and advocacy efforts around education equity, protecting our elections, and expanding the progress Delaware has made on justice reform.
