About Combined Campaign for Justice

Mission: The goal of Combined Campaign for Justice is to help bridge the justice gap in Delaware and ensure civil legal aid is available to poor and vulnerable people when it matters most.

More than 100,000 Delawareans live in poverty and need help with legal issues they can’t solve on their own.  Since there is no constitutional right to counsel in civil cases, most low-income people face pressing legal problems without even basic assistance.

Community Legal Aid Society, Delaware Volunteer Legal Services, and Legal Services Corp. of Delaware come to the rescue of those who cannot afford needed legal help in life-changing situations.  The Combined Campaign for Justice bridges the gap to ensure legal aid is available when it matters most.

Together these organizations provide free legal services to Delaware’s most vulnerable residents- people who are poor, people with disabilities, and people who are over the age of sixty. There is a significant justice gap in the United States—and in Delaware—more than eighty percent of the civil legal needs of poor people are going unmet. The goal of CCJ is to help bridge that gap and make sure legal aid is available to more people when it matters most.
