Mission: The Biggs Museum of American Art preserves, celebrates and advances the fine and decorative arts and encourages greater public engagement with the cultural heritage of Delaware and the Mid-Atlantic region.

To fulfill its mission, the Biggs Museum presents a broad range of exhibitions and public programs, actively interprets and cares for its collections, serves as an education resource to the community, and maintains strong ties with artists in the region.

Your contribution will help us defray operating costs and continue to offer cost free community based programs such as Biggs Weekend.  To see your support in action, join us Friday March 3  through Sunday March 5. We will be offering free admission and special programs all three days.

March 3 
  • 11:30 AM - 12:30 AM Complimentary Tour Celebrating Women's History Month :Women of the Biggs highlights some of the notable female artists in our collection.

March 4 
  • 11: 00 AM - 2:00 PM  Free Community Art Workshop - Adults and children are invited to  create with us in this specialized studio time, where participants are given a theme and supplies, and encouraged to let their creativity flow.
  • 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM Complimentary Tour Celebrating Women's History Month: Women of the Biggs highlights some of the notable female artists in our collection.

March 5 
  • 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM Spanish Language Family Programming - Hear a story read in         Spanish and create a themed craft with the guidance of our bilingual educator.

Biggs Weekend is just one way that the Biggs strives to welcome and enrich the community. The Museum seeks funding to enable more opportunities to offer free educational tours, scholarships to Children's Summer Camps, special programs that foster and support accessibility and inclusion and more.
