The Delaware Black Student Coalition

A fundraiser for TeenSHARP, Inc.

$1,260 raised from 29 donors

$2,000 goal

I’m Hasana Parker.

I’m fundraising for TeenSHARP, Inc..

The Delaware Black Student Coalition (DBSC) is an entirely student-led organization dedicated to the advancement of Black students in Delaware. With all 7 of the co-founders being high school students. DBSC consists of middle school, high school, and college students and is growing at a rapid rate! With the money raised from this fundraiser, DBSC will be able to purchase the necessary items in order to proceed along with our overall mission and goal of being students that support students. The world in which we live is entirely virtual at this point in time and it is nearly impossible to create a program without a fully functional website, zoom account, and other resources that full-time high-school students can't purchase. In addition to this, the coalition is doing important work within the state and we do not plan on stopping anytime soon. These funds are going to help us advertise the initiatives we have been working on such as working with state legislators on a bill that will ensure that Black History and Culture will be taught in the DE public school system. Other programs that the coalition hosts are educational workshops and informative panels which often require some financial backing in order to utilize the proper technology to function in an effective manner. With your support, the Delaware Black Student Coalition will be able to thrive and bring change for many years to come! Thank you so much.

About TeenSHARP, Inc.

Mission: Building a diverse pipeline of leaders, one top college admission at a time

Founded in 2009, TeenSHARP is a dynamic learning community that empowers Black, Latino, and low-income students across the Delaware Valley. By using top college admissions as a catalyst for change, we are reshaping the landscape of leadership in America.

What started with just 10 students in a church basement has grown into a movement, reaching hundreds of students through our transformative virtual programs. Over the past 16 years, more than 700 TeenSHARP scholars have gained admission to top institutions like Yale, MIT, Princeton, Cornell, Columbia, Penn, Vanderbilt, Macalester, Pomona, Northeastern, and Swarthmore.

Our impact goes beyond college acceptance—TeenSHARP alumni graduate on time, with minimal debt. Nearly all complete college within four years (all within six), and on average, they leave with $15,000 or less in student loans—a fraction of the national average.

At TeenSHARP, we don’t just help students get in—we prepare them to lead and thrive.
