Support The Art Society at Loblolly Acres and its mission to support the arts in Central Delaware.

Coming from humble beginnings in 1964, Loblolly Acres, a Christmas tree farm bringing joy to families during the holidays, became the top school tour destination in the fall and Christmas. Thousands of Delaware students learned about the life of a farm through fun and interactive experiences. With the shut down of the states, Cheryl, the owner of Loblolly, along with her significant other, Clem began building the venue of her dreams that included The Sycamore Stage. Angela Zielen Epps, Cheryl’s daughter-in-law and professional ballet dancer with First State Ballet Theatre, had dreams of bringing the arts and performances to Kent County and created our nonprofit.

The Art Society at Loblolly Acres is a nonprofit organization with a grand vision to serve and inspire Delaware. We want to become Central Delaware’s home for nature, community and the arts, welcoming all artists to create, share and transport the community.

In our first year, we brought out Mike Hines and the Look, Love Seed Mama Jump, The First State Ballet Theater and The Chesapeake Brass Band out to the farm to delight many. We hosted more intimate events such as our Dinner Theater with Ovation and a Farm to Table Dinner earlier last year. Each Sunday in October, we brought in two bands to perform at Loblolly's Pumpkin Patch Sunday festivals as well as local artisans to shop and pumpkins to pick.

Our 2024 season begins this spring with two Dinner Theaters with Ovation Dinner Theatre. This summer we will have two Farm to Table Dinners, Ballet, Brews, BBQ and Blues Event bringing back the First State Ballet Theatre, an Art Show at the Chesapeake Brass Band Concert, an event with Opera Delaware, Love Seed Mama Jump concert, as well as a larger act from Nashville. We will host our Pumpkin Patch Sundays through October featuring two local bands each Sunday. 

Each year we’d like to grow our event season at Loblolly Acres with more events, more artists, and offerings for Kent County residents!

The Art Society at Loblolly Acres is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization with a grand vision to serve and inspire Delaware. Created in 2022 and nestled in the heart of Delaware, The Art Society is Central Delaware’s home for nature, community and the arts. Situated on a 160 acre family owned farm framed by tall Loblolly pines, is a space that welcomes all artists to create, share and transport the community.
