Sussex County Land Trust is a nonprofit conservation organization, dedicated to safeguarding the land and resources that make Sussex County special

In 2026, Sussex County Land Trust will celebrate 25 years of protecting the land and resources that make Sussex County special. What began as a grassroots effort has grown into a countywide conservation organization safeguarding farms, forests, waterways, and public open spaces for generations to come. 

As we mark this milestone, we’re also entering a new chapter. With the hiring of our first full-time Executive Director, SCLT is expanding its capacity to steward existing preserves, grow public access, and advance new conservation projects at a critical time for Sussex County—when rapid development continues to put pressure on our remaining open space.
