The Rehoboth Beach Volunteer Fire Company is a volunteer fire company protecting a full time population of 30,000 people and a seasonal population of over 300,000.  We cover 32 square miles, including Dewey Beach, Rehoboth Beach, Angola and Henlopen Acres with fire, rescue and other emergency services. All our fire and rescue calls are staffed by volunteer firefighters. 

We have 15 full-time EMT’s who operate 2 ambulances 24/7/365.  Both our firefighters and EMT staff are highly trained and provide the very best professional services. Due to the rapid housing development in Sussex County, the area is experiencing an increase in population and demand for our services. We operate three fire stations and responded to over 5,500 fire, rescue and EMS calls in 2025 alone.  

We are raising funds to purchase updated equipment that allows the firefighters and EMS to show up for you.  

The Tower/ladder truck that we will be replacing has served our community for over 25 years.  The total cost of the new truck is $1.6 million. And, to provide gear to just one individual firefighter cost more than $21,000.
