Friends of Wilmington Parks
Organization Mission:
Friends of Wilmington Parks is dedicated to maintaining the beauty and enjoyment of the Wilmington State Parks system. Through community programs, fundraising, and restoration of historic spaces, we’re committed to keeping the parks enjoyable destinations for park visitors. We support Wilmington State Parks, encompassing five lush, urban parks along the Brandywine River in Delaware: Brandywine Park, Rockford Park, Alapocas Run State Park, H. Fletcher Brown Park, and Kentmere Parkway.
- Build new or renovate existing park facilities, like a new playground on the South side of the Brandywine at Happy Valley.
- Maintain the historic Jasper Crane Rose Garden in Brandywine Park.
- Present a host of events throughout the year, including our free summer concert series, the Brandywine Backstory Series, and our Art in the Park Silent Auction.
- Present a new series of fun performances at the Sugar Bowl.
- How about a kid friendly evening at Rockford Park this summer? Yes please!
- Restore a portion of Brandywine Park to native habitat in order to attract wildlife and improve water quality.
