Your gifts will directly support expanding Eyeball It!®’s quality implementation with partner, youth-serving non-profits who offer after-school and summer programing, especially to under-resourced kids across Delaware and beyond.

Among Eyeball It!®’s partners is the Boys & Girls Clubs of DE. In summer 2022, over 650 kids had art, including the Eyeball It!® Projects, 3-4 days/week for 8 weeks in 7 BGClubs, instructed by 13 high-school and college students, trained by Eyeball It!® founder Ellen Priest.

“Kids ‘hang their hats’ on sports and the arts,” Priest says. “That’s what makes them wake up in the morning happy to be who they are. That’s how they define themselves.” Established research by the National Endowment for the Arts, Search Institute and others corroborates that insight.

Priest believes real studio art education give kids a voice they often desperately want and need. Hands-on studio art cultivates children’s creative thinking, problem-solving, confidence in making real art on their own, and belief in the value of their own visual expression.

With your gift of any size, you’ll help expand Eyeball It!®’s visibility, community and impact for Delaware kids and many more.

Thank you!! To you and DoMore24Delaware!

KIDS NEED ART! Art can be the voice that helps kids thrive academically, behaviorally and socially.

CREATIVE THINKING: Projects and Drawing Exercises challenge kids to experiment and take risks making art about their world from their own vision and imaginations.

INCLUSIVE: Art inspires kids to dive deeper into their own identity and experiences – of self, family, community, culture – and express themselves freely.

FUN!! Without fun, creativity and its habits don't thrive!

CRITICAL THINKING: Kids use their problem-solving skills and imagination to find solutions to visual, artistic and technical problems. There are no right or wrong answers in art!

TOTALLY FREE: The Eyeball It!® program is completely free. Your only cost is art materials. You may purchase a kit or use whatever you have.

From Stuart Sherman, Vice President at Boys & Girls Clubs of Delaware:

In our ongoing efforts to provide high school students with jobs, we have found that our Eyeball It!® Art Wowzers! program has not only been the most requested program by our Clubs, it is also the most sought-after job by the teens we serve. In the summer of 2022, we provided 13 art instructors to our sites around Delaware, and widely received high marks as to the quality of the program and the benefit to the Club and the kids.

From a Student Instructor, Summer 2022

In the beginning when we would give the kids more complex projects, they seemed uninterested and would try to rush through everything. Towards the end they would be practically begging for something more challenging and take their time being more precise with their work. Their behavior and engagement definitely changed.

From a Student Instructor, January-February Pilot 2020

Once the students realized that their art was at their own discretion, they grew more comfortable with creating, and in my opinion, came up with better ideas.  Some kids started making story lines for their art, and creating series with their pieces.  I think once they understood that they had full liberty with their creations, they took it to another level.
