OUR MISSION: CHANGING THE HEADLINES IN WILMINGTON

Next month, Wilmington will open the doors to a world class space designed by teens from start to finish. This is a space where Wilmington teens can explore, collaborate, and discover their passions and prepare themselves for life, the workforce, and higher education experiences.  YOUR DONATION will support their efforts by providing access to the dynamic programming they desire, deserve -- and that otherwise wouldn’t be accessible to them.

OUR GOAL: 1,000 HOURS OF PROGRAMMING

  • Raise $10,000.00 to support program partners delivering effective and connected programming.
  • An anonymous donor has agreed to match up to $10,000.00 dollars in donations.

Raising $10,000.00 will provide over 1,000 hours of programming to Warehouse teens!!!

OUR WORK

At The Warehouse we focus on providing programming based on the R.E.A.C.H. pillars - recreation, education, arts, career, and health. Programs will include financial literacy, hair styling, sexual health education, fashion design, workforce development, culinary arts/healthy eating, dance, sports performance, FAFSA seminars, healthy relationships and much more. Donations will provide teens access to these dynamic programs and ensure program partners have the support they need to deliver high impact programming.

We support many of our partners through collaborative grant opportunities, but the reality is many of them donate their time to ensure Wilmington youth have access to high quality programming. Barriers such as cost of equipment, space rental, youth attendance, and compensation prevent partners from delivering programming to the city’s youth. The Warehouse promises to provide free space to partners, equipment, and guarantee access to youth. Our state of the art facility opens April 13th, and we have invested thousands of dollars in state of the art equipment for program partners.

About The Teen Warehouse

Mission: The mission of The Warehouse is to create a safe collaborative environment that revolutionizes Teen engagement in the city of Wilmington with the vision of developing confident, contributing and courageous young adults.

The Warehouse is a teen-led programming space, guided by the mantra, “For Teens, By Teens.” A cohort of teen executives sets the mission, shapes programming to meet the needs and interests of their peers, and leads outreach efforts to welcome all members of their community to the space. The chair of this teen cohort also serves as co-chair of The Warehouse Board of Directors. This teen centered approach has strengthened engagement and participation in RISE as well as the full roster of academic, recreational, and personal development programs offered to all teen members.
