What is the measure of success for Goldey-Beacom? Is it in graduation rates? Retention rates? Is it in ending each fiscal year with a positive balance? Is it endowment growth?

Those are all very important measures to take but there’s a bigger measure of success that’s hard to gauge. It’s the positive impact of our students and alumni on their communities. We have so many wonderful examples of this that we know are successful despite the difficulty in measuring that. Here are a few examples:

  • Current Students: Our students (and faculty and staff) are actively involved with the Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID) program at Skyline Middle School, working to prepare Skyline students for college readiness and success in a global society. Our students work with Skyline students weekly throughout the academic year, helping students to envision the possibilities in their lives. Other students at GBC are actively involved with the Delaware Boys and Girls Club, also opening a world of possibilities for them.
  • Kaitlyn: An alum who helps people from all walks of life at Brandywine Counseling
  • Mark: An alum who started his own company and recently retired to start his own not-for-profit organization to teach young people financial literacy.
  • Pat: An alum who works tirelessly to help people with home ownership, helping them to make sound financial decisions to secure their futures.
  • Areysha:  An alum who cares for children at a half-way house while they wait to get placed in foster care
  • Amir:  A recent grad who upended his life in Delaware to move to Idaho to work for Teach for America
If success is measured in what Goldey-Beacom College graduates do to improve their communities, like you do, then we are wildly successful!

What we need to maintain this success, though, is YOUR HELP through your gift to our annual fund. Your annual fund gift provides valuable support to the College’s budget and through that, makes an immediate and tangible difference that allows us to continue to educate students who go onto make a difference in their communities.

We hope you will join us in giving to the Goldey-Beacom College Annual Fund this year. Your generosity, in any amount, is appreciated and valued. Thank you!

About Goldey-Beacom College

Mission: In its second century, Goldey-Beacom College reaffirms its commitment to the proud tradition of providing accessible, high-quality, career-focused education.

Welcome to Goldey-Beacom College – where students achieve greater.

Goldey-Beacom College is a private, four-year, not-for-profit college located on a 24-acre campus near Wilmington, Delaware. With approximately 1,800 students enrolled, the College offers 41 degree options in its graduate and undergraduate programs with majors in psychology, economics, criminal justice, English and all areas of business including accounting, business administration, entrepreneurship and finance.

As an NCAA Division II college, GBC is home to 13 sports programs including basketball, volleyball, soccer, baseball, tennis and softball. While living on or off campus, students become part of an academic, athletic and social tradition – all in a safe, welcoming suburban setting.

GBC embraces diversity representing 22 states and 60 nations. Characterized by its small size and ethnic diversity, GBC provides a quality, rigorous education to a primarily under-served population of first-generation students as well as those with high financial need. Upon arrival, our students are met by faculty who are caring, dedicated and knowledgeable in their respective fields; who motivate their students to realize their full learning potential; and, above all, who represent teaching excellence.

As a teaching-oriented institution, the College emphasizes instructional excellence in the classroom. Our professors engage students with a caring, wholesome, intellectually stimulating learning environment so they may grow as individuals and become worthy, productive members of society. In fact, 100 percent of full-time faculty have terminal degrees and strong ties to their professions with real-world experience. They walk into classrooms fully equipped to serve students who desperately need individualized attention to thrive socially and academically on a college campus.

At GBC, it’s not just the highly-qualified faculty that stands out – the College is committed to providing accessible, high-quality, career-focused education. As the global economy continues to shift, GBC strives to meet the demands of an ever-changing workforce. The College is committed to connecting its graduates with careers in their respective fields. For over a decade, the College has achieved a 90 percent placement rate for graduates.

Extraordinary efforts = extraordinary results.

Founded in 1886, the College is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education, the Accreditation Council of Business Schools and Programs, and the International Assembly of Collegiate Business Education.
