Programming at Kingswood Community Center serves all ages, spanning “cradle to cane:”
· Early Learning Academy (ELA) serves children ages one to five years, promoting developmental milestones using age-appropriate curricula. The ultimate goal of the ELA is to ensure that children and families are kindergarten-ready upon completion of the program. Kindergarten-readiness includes a child’s developmental domains (social-emotional, physical, language, cognitive, literacy, mathematics), an individualized transition plan, and family readiness for kindergarten (case management, assistance with the application process, access to supportive services, etc.).
· School Age Programs provides academic support and enrichment for school age children (ages five through twelve). Programs include summer camp and before/after school programming.
· EMPOWER Program promotes upward economic mobility for Riverside residents through a comprehensive and tailored system of supports, services and case management that buttresses families and individuals holistically.
· Health and Medical Resources: In June 2021 KCC opened a new virtual health clinic in partnership with ChristianaCare. Staffed by ChristianaCare, the clinic provides primary care, health screenings, vaccinations and referrals. KCC also provides some funding and/or referrals for medical bill assistance.
· Jimmy Jenkins Senior Center addresses the needs and interests of seniors in our community by providing them with support that focuses on maximizing independence. About 120 seniors attend programming regularly each year.
· Community and Family Services are designed to provide support and information response through referrals to local services for those who find themselves in need.
