Support People to People Delaware! People to People International is an organization that former President Dwight Eisenhower established in 1956 as part of the U.S. Information Agency. His goal during the cold war era was to provide opportunities for people from different countries to learn about each other and form friendships in order to bring more peace into the world.
In 1961 when he was no longer president, he privatized PTPI, and it became a not-for-profit corporation. Since then, PTPI formed chapters throughout the U.S. and in other countries as well.
Our Delaware chapter works to establish “peace through understanding” in a variety of ways. We have educational programs on other countries and cultures; we support international students; we participate in local Peace Week events; we raise funds in order to contribute to humanitarian efforts locally and globally.
