Organization Mission:

Our mission is improving the lives of those with Parkinson's Disease and their families; through exercise, education and support in Sussex County, Delaware.

Parkinson's disease is a degenerative disease with no known cure.  Exercise and medication can slow the progression of the disease.  The Parkinson's Education and Support Group of Sussex County sponsors exercise classes that are specifically designed to slow down the progression of motor symptoms such as slow movements, shuffling and poor balance.  We provide our exercise leaders with the training and certification to teach these specialized classes.  Funds raised through DoMore24Delaware will be used to send our instructors for training and certification to teach Parkinson's specific classes such as boxing, spin and balance.

We carry out this mission by conducting educational seminars and discussion groups for our members and their families.  Additionally we sponsor exercise classes 5 days a week that are specifically designed to slow the progression of the disease.
