Ministry of Caring Do More 24 DE 2020
Organization Mission:
The mission of The Ministry of Caring is, simply, to serve the needs of the poor with dignity, respect and love. We welcome the hungry for nutritious daily meals in our two dining rooms. We also provide emergency shelter for the homeless, job placement and assistance, high-quality childcare, and affordable housing for lower-income seniors. The Ruth Balick Distribution Center is a collection, storage and distribution point for donated food, clothing, furniture and household items that are given at no cost to anyone in need. In July 2025, we celebrated the groundbreaking of our latest facility, Villa Maria, which will provide 74 additional units to those in need of safe, secure housing. Plans are in the process to create our fifth senior affordable housing program, Village of Francis & Clare, a 51-unit high rise. Our philosophy is that the poor should never be treated poorly.
Emmanuel Dining Room is the oldest and the biggest social service program run by us, supported by generous and compassionate people like you. It has just walked through 40 years of journey and will persist fighting hunger in the City of Wilmington.
