I’m fundraising for
2nd Annual Commuter Challenge @ Monkey Hill (Urban Bike Project of Wilmington).
I just started riding my bike as part of my commute last summer, though I've enjoyed riding bikes growing up. The Commuter Challenge on Monkey Hill during the Wilmington Grand Prix is something I'm pushing myself to do that's out of my comfort zone...and is also part of Bike to Work Day 2023! Commuting from North Wilmington to Newark, Delaware (UD's main campus), 15+ miles via SEPTA regional rail and bike.
Urban Bike Project is an amazing resource for Wilmington residents. I started volunteering with used Bike sales, donations and basic repairs and maintenance a few months ago at their flagship location in Wilmington. I've also enjoyed using the bikes they have available at Bellevue State Park, a few miles north of the city. Bicycling opens the doors to so many great opportunities in life and I hope you'll consider helping me raise funds to continue their good works in the community.
My goal is to raise $250, and I've set up some 'bench marks' that will be added to my ride to help us get to the $250 goal.
Once $50 is raised, I'll add a brick to my milk crate.
When $100 is raised, I'll add my laptop and other heavy work commuter items. (not usually needed on Friday afternoon)
When $250 is raised, I'll add a loaded pannier/bike commuter bag.
