I’m Ashley Christopher.

I’m fundraising for Vincente Tambourelli Family Assistance Fund, in leiu of flowers. (Face the Facts DE).

I would like to first start by introducing myself my name is Ashley Christopher (42); I am the mother of one of David Blunt's children Dharma Blunt (6). Me and David Blunt were together for an amazing decade. No matter what we struggled with we both always had one another's back. Even if that meant we were not around each other for a certain amount of time. We both have struggled with the disease of addiction.

David Blunt ,40, passed away peacefully sometime between Sunday November 30th night and Monday December 1st extremely early morning. He was born in Newark, De where he had a childhood surrounded by his mother Donna Blunt, his father David Blunt (deceased), his brother Adam Blunt (deceased) and his sister Laura Blunt. About 22 years ago Dave had twin daughters Denise and Abigail Blunt with Jennifer Blanco. Though the twins are grown they understand what their father was going through.  As I stated above me and David have a 6-year-old Dharma Blunt where she is younger, we are not sure how long it may take her to understand exactly what has happened to her father.

David always made everyone around him laugh. He was a sweetheart, very generous, and would do anything for anyone. He was always the life of the party whether he was telling jokes, playing his guitar, making funny everything including himself.  David was homeless when he passed away. He didn't just succumb to just his addiction he also had cold exposure and terrible infections in both of his arms.

Any money collected will be used to cremate David any money left over will be used to make his celebration of life as special as possible. Any amount you're willing to contribute will be greatly appreciated. We are not asking you to give everything you have just whatever you are able to spare. If you are unable to contribute any money at this time sharing this with your family and friends would mean the world.

About Face the Facts DE

Mission: Face the Facts DE is dedicated to bridging the gap between organizations addressing addiction, recovery, and essential community needs and the individuals and families seeking their services. We exist to make help easier to find, stigma harder to hold onto, and support more accessible when it matters most. Through education, advocacy, community meetings, and direct connection to resources, Face the Facts DE brings people together in moments of crisis, recovery, and healing. Our work is rooted in compassion, honesty, and lived experience. We meet people where they are, without judgment, and walk alongside them as they navigate substance use, recovery, grief, and the everyday challenges that often accompany them. By strengthening collaboration across service providers and centering the voices of those impacted, Face the Facts DE creates a community where no one is left to face addiction or loss alone.

Our monthly community meetings are held on the second Thursday of each month at 6:30 PM at Redemption Treatment Center, providing a welcoming space for collaboration, education, and support for individuals and families impacted by substance use.
