Friends of Wilmington Parks Do More 24 Delaware 2025
Organization Mission:
Friends of Wilmington Parks is dedicated to maintaining the beauty and enjoyment of the Wilmington State Parks system. Through community programs, fundraising, and restoration of historic spaces, we’re committed to keeping the parks enjoyable destinations for park visitors. We support Wilmington State Parks, encompassing five lush, urban parks along the Brandywine River in Delaware: Brandywine Park, Rockford Park, Alapocas Run State Park, H. Fletcher Brown Park, and Kentmere Parkway.
- Build new or renovate existing park facilities, like the new picnic area at the Rockford Tennis Courts.
- Maintain the historic Jasper Crane Rose Garden in Brandywine Park.
- Present a host of events throughout the year, including our free summer concert series, Foodie Fridays at Blue Ball Barn, the Brandywine Backstory Series, and our Art in the Park Silent Auction.
- Present a new series of performances at the Sugar Bowl. First up? Pop Up Opera this summer.
- Host the opening celebration of our new Rockford Concert Stage in June.
- Restore a portion of Brandywine Park to native habitat in order to attract wildlife and improve water quality.
