Dreaming of Delaware Water Dance

Organization Mission:

Pieces of a Dream, Inc. is a Delaware-based modern dance company dedicated to the development of artists and the presentation of original, non-traditional works. We explore contemporary societal issues through the medium of dance to engage the community and provide opportunities for discussion and education. We support the holistic well-being of our artists by fostering creativity as well as education in pertinent life issues such as financial literacy, collaboration and healthy relationships.

Pieces of a Dream, Inc. is excited to be bringing the National Water Dance to Wilmington for 2024.  In partnership with the DuPont Environmental Education Center and other community partners, POAD dancers will join other dance companies, studios, and movement groups throughout the United States on Saturday, April 20 at 4:00 PM.  Taking place at the Southbridge Wetlands Park, POAD seeks to illuminate the importance of Delaware’s waterways and marshes to the infrastructure of our cities.  Furthermore, we will use the occasion to highlight environmental justice issues in the Southbridge neighborhood and throughout the City of Wilmington.  We invite the public to join us for the April 20 performance and various community discussion and movement sessions.  For more information about National Water Dance in Delaware, please visit www.PiecesofaDream.org.
