Do Care Doula Foundation is a 501c3 nonprofit organization headquartered in Kent County Delaware with the mission of decreasing birth disparities within the Black and Brown community. Members of this population are more than 2-3x more likely to experience negative outcomes in relation to pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. Doulas (non-medical support people) have been shown to significantly decrease these negative outcomes by providing continuous support, assistance with researching evidence-based information, and teaching effective/impactful self-advocacy. We train and develop Doulas and provide community outreach via our newly opened family resource center in Dover, Delaware which houses our Doula training and development space, a diaper bank, food and basic needs pantry, childbirth/lactation education classes, support groups, fitness classes and more.
