Bayard House

A fundraiser for Catholic Charities, Inc.

$615 raised from 11 donors

$25,000 goal

Bayard House provides a healthy home for pregnant teens and women preparing for babies, offers follow-up and support after childbirth, prepares mothers for parental responsibilities, and gives referrals for additional services like housing, food, job training, and day care.

Bayard House is the only fully licensed residential program serving homeless, transitional pregnant, or newly parenting minors and young women in Delaware. Beyond meeting the immediate needs of homeless, pregnant young women – shelter and food – Bayard House provides clients with educational programs and referrals to additional services so that they may become nurturing parents and independent, contributing members of society. Bayard House believes in the dignity of each person.

We work with young parents in need to:

• Reduce infant mortality and child abuse
• Provide a supportive environment for childbirth
• Build healthy families with healthy children
• Develop skills for independent adulthood
• Develop positive support systems
• Establish strong family values
• Promote changes for a lifetime
