Andrea Trabelsi takes on the Commuter Challenge!

A fundraiser for 2nd Annual Commuter Challenge @ Monkey Hill (Urban Bike Project of Wilmington)

$580 raised from 14 donors

$400 goal

I’m Andrea Trabelsi.

I’m fundraising for 2nd Annual Commuter Challenge @ Monkey Hill (Urban Bike Project of Wilmington).

Urban Bike Project of Wilmington is a non-profit that makes the joy of bicycling more accessible for all, especially those in the Wilmington area. Nearly two decades ago I was a volunteer with UBP at its very beginning. It’s been amazing to see the organization’s impact and witness how bicycling has grown in Delaware. There’s still more work to be done to make bicycling safer and more accessible.

So, help me load up my bike for this personal challenge and community fundraiser. Your contributions add the following items to my load (and help me compete for the weight-carrying part of the competition):
First $25 = bottle cage
+$25 ($50 total) = seat bag
+$50 ($100 total) = handlebar basket
+$50 ($150 total) = trunk
+$50 ($200 total) = fanny pack
+$100 ($300 total) = pannier 1
+$100 ($400 total) = pannier 2
BONUS: +$100 ($500 total) = backpack

Bicycling is empowering; it has brought magic to my life in so many ways:
  • Adventure—bicycle camping, late night rides with grad school colleagues, and winter rides in Minnesota!
  • Fitness/health—I can always count on a bike ride to raise my spirits, heart rate, and general feeling of health!
  • Self-reliance and freeing myself from GHGs!
  • Friendship—so many childhood friendships made possible by bike and newer friendships formed via bicycle and the tandem bike!
  • Pushing myself and my limits—riding at 15,000 ft + in the Andes Mountains of Peru!
